So I just heard Graeme and he had a meltdown too, but he decided to just move on. No I can't just move on like nothing happened, but I can move on with renewed vigor with some goals in mind.
Yes I love endurance and I can ride till the cows come home and I actually can do it fast if the wind is working with me! So do that event that will work with the perfect wind situation but check it early at night so that if you do end up blowing up you have that cushion for 7 hours.
I know from analysis that this is not my strong suit. I am better suited to short distances ie. that's why I picked a sprint tri instead of something longer. So forget about the ultra events.
I gave up the long events for lent and I got a great result at the Pancakes in Paradise so why not continue the short events and work to get faster pick up the swimming and the running just enough to get by without too much pain :-)
Pick the shorter events over the long. Forget about the 100s or upper numbers on rides or group rides. 1449.74 for the build-up of the season with my first A event down time to move on. I said I wanted to put in 1500 miles before starting speed work and club rides. Guess I'll check with Friel.
One more ride at base this weekend then 4 weeks at build 1 then build 2 then build 3 also then 1-2 weeks of peak then 1 week of race transition is 1-6 active recovery
Build Muscular and or anaerobic endurance and power. Maintain Aerobic endurance, force, speed. At Peak and race 72 - 96 hours some sort of race component otherwise active recovery.
